37,600 sqft: Total enclosed site of all building foot print areas
Library with Administration building: 4,400 sqft
Total sqft: Stationary Shop, Kitchen, Latrines and Well area: 2,086sqft
Garden: 1,900 sqft
Features of Sustainable Design:
-Passive design features in energy use, water, materials, site, waste and air quality
-Orientation of building align with Southwestery and North winds
-Ventilation and cooling through building: Garden and Trees on wind side
-Corridor acts as 'wind catcher'. Evacuating hot interior air.
-Materials all local and maintain cool buildings.
-Local contruction practice use
-Exterior shell either burnt brick and concrete masonry unit(cmu) block
-All Trees and vegetation local with replanting of trees for every Timber used in
building structure and interior
-Recycling practice for faciltiy and Waste Management
-Renewable Energy: Sustainable Power Generation: Use of Wind (wind turbines)
and Sun (solar PV)
-Rain catchement system from roof for water use: Geometry of roof
-Handicapped Accessible at all buildings
-Hygiene Issues: Latrine have water reuse from rain catchment sytem
-Garden for cooling at building and local vegetable production by facility
-Kitchen: solar cooking and refrigeration powered by wind and sun power
-solar pumps used at rain catchments system
-Well-solar pump use for water extraction
